Died and Gone to Heaven

Lauren Graham is going to guest star on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, playing ‘Lauren Graham’ in two episodes.

Folks, I squeeled for about 5 minutes. Can’t really type. Too excited.

Here’s Ausiello’s article.

Never Believe The Rumours…

Somehow over the years Lauren Graham has gotten a bad reputation for being….prickly to say the least. The word cold has been used as well. I’ve never really cared much about said rumours until now.

Go read this myspace post, about a fangirl who encountered Graham on a flight to Virginia. It really makes me rethink any opinions I may have had about Graham.

Said fangirl had a total fangirl reaction when seeing Graham, gushing about GG and such. What does Graham do? She talks to her about the show and pretty much whatever comes up, for an hour and a half.

This coming from a woman whos most famous online quote was making fun of Gilmore Girls fans calling them ‘crazy internet people.’ The fangirl even brought up the quote and Graham laughed about it with her.

I’m convinced that if Michael Ausiello had had the same conversation with Graham he’d be dead of joy.

Anyway if you watch Gilmore Girls, check out said blog entry. It’s extremely refreshing and has me feeling really bad about any previous opinions I may have had about Lauren Graham.

For her to put up with what I’m sure were obviously annoying questions with such grace…she seems pretty cool.

But there’s also the possibility that the entire story was made up, because when it comes down it, Gilmore Girls fangirls are kind of psychotic.

(Aviva this entry was totally for you.)

Randomness

Open question here:

Does anyone who watches Gilmore Girls like the idea of Christopher and Lorelai being together next season?  I can’t possibly understand why someone would, but if you do could you give me your reasons.  I’m really trying to be optimistic about next season, but it’s just becoming too hard.

Sorry I haven’t posted much.  Started a new internship that’s gonna last until Dec today.  With school starting next week the blogging will slow down a little bit until fall premieres start.  But don’t worry, once my shows are back I’ll be reviewing, criticizing and snarking at every opportunity.

Ok, how awesome is it that Meredith Viera is still terrified of Barbara Walters?  So funny.

Random Emmy Thoughts

So I gave in and watched the beginning and the end. Did not enjoy myself. Man, that was just not right.

However there were a few interesting moments:

Jeremy Piven won. Yay! Entourage was great tonight by the way. Way better than this stupid show.

I’m not gonna comment about Mullally.

Blythe Danner made a smart ass comment about people take the awards too seriously. ‘We’re just celebrating our craft.’ Yeah, you’re supposed to be celebrating the BEST of your craft. That being said Danner was great on Huff. Imagine Emily Gilmore on crack and you’ve got Blythe on Huff.

Hellen Mirren: Ass over tit. Yeah, could not love her more.

Best Actress(Comedy): Debra Messing screaming out to Julia Louis-Dreyfus to say her husband. That was the only thing that saved my head from exploding. Neither Kudrow, nor Kaczmarek. Yeah, crime. But Dreyfus addressed the curse and that was cute.

Best Actress Drama: I can honestly say I’ve never screamed WTF so many times in the course of an hour. I know Michael Ausiello’s probably dead somewhere because of Mariska’s win, but I just can justify it. All i can say is at least Allison Janney didn’t win.

Best Actor(Comedy): Tony Shaloub folks, yeah, WTF.

The Office: Thank you Emmy’s. Thank you for doing one category that doesn’t make me scream out in anger. Ok, the creator thanked Jeff Zucker. I just shifted my support to Scrubs. Damnit.

Best Drama: God damnit man, I was hoping an Emmy win for Grey’s would encourage Ellen Pompeo to eat. 24’s an alright show in my opinion, but it’s so not the best show on television.

Lauren Graham should be happy she was saved from attending.

And The Award Goes to: Ellen Burstyn.

When I was younger the Emmy’s used to be my favourite awards show. Bigger than the Oscars. I’d camp out with junk food, spend 2 hours watching Joan and Melissa, I’d watch the show and then spend I’d 2 hours watching the after show.

Times have changed.

I doubt I’ll be watching the show tomorrow. I may tune in at the end for Grey’s Anatomy to win Best Drama, but otherwise I don’t care. Entourage has its midseason finale and sadly that takes precedence.

I have to say that I’m really hoping Ellen Burstyn wins for Mrs. Harris. I think it would take something as ridiculous as that to force change.

Here’s hoping next year the nominees are actually reflective of the talent.

CSI and I Are Breaking Up

TvSquad is reporting that Kevin Federline, yes that K-Fed is gonna guest star on CSI this season.  Vomit.  He’ll play an arrogant teen who harasses Nick and Warrick.

I’m not even gonna DVR this episode.  Seriously, who the hell does Britney Spears have dirty pictures of at CBS?

5 Returning Shows I’m Most Excited About

1. Gilmore Girls: I’m at an impasse with Gilmore Girls. I feel like I’m on a verge of a break with the show. Last season tested my patience before the finale and the ‘cliffhanger’ didn’t help. My anger wasn’t that Lorelai broke up with Luke(she should have months before), it was that the writers abandoned Lorelai’s character development in Season 5 by making her run back to Christopher. That being said, miserable Lorelai is painful to watch. So if the writers do embark on a Lorelai and Christopher relationship I just ask that they don’t make her miserable. She made her decision by sleeping with him, she needs to deal with it like an adult. If David Rosenthal can fix the Season 6 character destruction of Luke and Lorelai and give them their spines back then I don’t care if they get back together. Wow, that sounded depressing.

2. Grey’s Anatomy: My relationship with Grey’s Anatomy is an interesting one. I’m not really attached to any of the characters and their current relationships. I could care less who Meredith chooses, what happens with Izzy or if George ever grows a pair. What I do wanna see is Addison and Derek end their relationship. The writers need to flesh out the characters a little more. We know so little back-story about their marriage and even their lives. I’m assuming the addition of McSteamy to the cast early on in the season should allow for some development of Addison, but I’d like to see her character not attached to any man. It’s just repetitive. I am excited to see more background on the Chief and Ellis and of course Christina and Burke growing closer together. Grey’s hit it out of the park in its 2nd season, here’s hoping season 3 is just as good.

3. Lost: So many questions, so few answers. I love Lost because it’s complicated. It reminds of the great days of the X-Files when the mythology was a well oiled machine. Lost reinvents itself every season, in my opinion for the better. The addition of Penny and the Others can only lead to more complex and gripping storylines. However nothing has me more excited than the structure for next season; the 6 hour miniseries and then the continuation in Jan/February. Seeing the big three in captivity, dealing with completely new surroundings, their relationship with the others and inevitably their relationship with one another is guaranteed to be great television.

4 . The Office: The first episode of The Office I ever saw was last seasons finale, Casino Night. I’d heard the show was fun, but never gave it a chance. This summer I had the opportunity to catch up and I’m happy I did. It’s my type of humour and the characters are great. Dwight’s blind devotion to Michael, Angela’s craziness and everyone else in Dunder/Mifflin make me chuckle. BUT, the real reason I find myself so attached to the office is Jim and Pam. The chemistry between the actors is fantastic and I could not be rooting more for Jim. Pam needs to grow up and realize that what she has with Roy is not a healthy relationship. It’s comfort because she’s too scared to take any chances in life. Why she stayed with a man who left her at a hockey arena on their first date amazes me. I don’t expect Jim and Pam to get together next season, but I do expect Pam to dump Roy and hopefully discover what she wants to do with her life.

5. Veronica Mars: There’s no doubt that I love Veronica Mars. I love the complexity of the characters, the snarkiness and the mythology. HOWEVER, Veronica Mars is the show I’m most worried about next season. Everything about Veronica is changing, from the structure(1 to 3 mysteries), to the setting (from high school to Hearst) to the characters (introduction of Piz and Parker as regulars). Add to that the 13 episode pickup and the dependency on Gilmore Girls for new viewers and Veronica’s got an uphill battle. Lots of shows have difficulty switching from High School to University settings and I hope Veronica doesn’t fall victim to this. It’s gonna be a difficult transition.

RIP You Ugly Yellow Trash Heap

Could more things be changing for Veronica Mars’ third season?  First there’s a new school, then there’s a new boyfriend and now I’ve heard disturbing news that Logan’s infamous yellow Xterra will be put to rest.

So sad.

Also, Veronica’s LeBaron will also be retiring.

I’m becoming more and more weary of Season 3, it feels like they’re changing EVERYTHING on the show.

Chickens Without Their Heads

I love that nobody has a clue what’s going on over at SNL. Everyone is still claiming to be employed. I love that Maya Rudolph is pretty much about to say ‘ok, this is enough. goodbye idiots.’ I wish her the best.

As for everyone else, I could care less. If Amy Poeler didn’t have such a hot and awesome husband I wouldn’t even care about her.
